Major Function

The Vice President Finance is responsible for overseeing the companys accounting operations, financial reporting, and internal control environment. Operating in a fast-paced business, the role ensures financial discipline while supporting growth, regulatory compliance, and strategic decision-making. This position requires strong technical expertise, business acumen, and leadership skills.

Key Responsibilities

1. Financial Management & Reporting

  • Lead preparation and consolidation of accurate and timely financial statements.
  • Ensure compliance with PFRS, tax, and regulatory requirements.
  • Consolidate results across business units
  • Provide management with insightful analysis of actuals vs. budget and key variances.

2. Budgeting & Forecasting

  • Oversee annual budget and rolling forecasts in partnership with department heads.
  • Deliver financial insights to support strategic decisions and investments.
  • Monitor and analyze diverse revenue streams (advertising, sponsorships, syndication, subscriptions, digital platforms).

3. Internal Controls & Compliance

  • Strengthen internal control systems to safeguard resources.
  • Manage internal and external audits.
  • Enforce policies for spending, approvals, and reporting.

4. Tax & Regulatory

  • Ensure accuracy and timeliness of all filings and reports.
  • Recommend tax-efficient strategies while maintaining compliance.
  • Build strong relationships with tax authorities and regulators.

5. Leadership & Team Development

  • Lead, mentor, and grow the finance and accounting team.
  • Foster a culture of integrity, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Partner with other divisions (Sales, Programming, Production, IT, HR, etc.) to align financial support with business goals.

Qualifications

  • CPA required.
  • Minimum 10 years progressive finance/accounting experience, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership or controllership role.
  • Strong background in broadcast media, advertising, telecommunications, or digital industries preferred.
  • Knowledgeable in PFRS, tax compliance, and ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or equivalent).
  • Excellent leadership, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Able to thrive in a creative, fast-moving, and deadline-driven environment.
