The main purpose of this position is to be overall responsible for handling recruitment activities to deliver crew according to customer requirements and prescribed procedures. The position oversees overall crew recruitment in the Philippines through main and branch offices.
Key Responsibilities and Role(s)
- Lead the recruitment team to ensure deliverables are met and concerns are addressed in a timely manner, while monitoring team performance and guiding managers to comply with recruitment policies.
- Empower Deputy Managers to establish and implement a recruitment strategy that effectively addresses advertising, sourcing, testing, and interviewing, with a focus on continuous improvement in processes and standards.
- Collaborate with Crewing Operations and other departments to align recruitment processes with principal needs.
- Build and maintain relationships with industry stakeholders, competitors, partners, maritime academies, and authorities to enhance the companys presence and expand the recruitment network.
- Engage with stakeholders to ensure recruitment needs are forecasted and met.
- Coach and develop the team, empowering managers to ensure adherence to policies and continuous process improvement.
- Act upon stakeholder requests and delegate tasks as required by the Managing Director Philippines.
- Align recruitment efforts with company goals and talent needs.
- Serve as the main contact for business leaders and internal teams, ensuring recruitment aligns with strategies.
- Build strong relationships with hiring managers and leadership to understand hiring needs and improve recruitment processes.
- Track global hiring trends and collaborate with regional teams to find new talent sources and reduce hiring time.
- Attract and retain top talent while ensuring crew retention and quality.
- Ensure client satisfaction by delivering high-quality seafarers on time and within budget.
- Approve department budgets and spending, ensuring cost-effectiveness.
- Ensure compliance with laws, regulations, and industry standards in all activities.
- Approve key decisions, projects, and initiatives within the department.
Required Competencies
- Extensive experience in recruitment in the same industry
- Management experience within a multinational organization
- Sea-based experience is an advantage
- Holder of any Bachelor's Degree
- Extensive knowledge of policies and procedures related to the Philippine crewing industry
- Ability to communicate effectively at all levels
- Excellent leadership skills, with the ability to coach and develop a team
- Strong negotiation skills
