Job Summary:

The Finance Manager is responsible for overseeing and strengthening the internal financial operations of the company, ensuring sound financial planning, accurate reporting, and effective internal controls across all departments and projects. This role plays a key part in supporting the leadership team with financial insights that drive operational efficiency, cost control, and strategic decision-making. The ideal candidate must have a strong background in finance within a project-based or construction-related environment.

Responsibilities:

Financial Management & Reporting

  • Prepare and manage the companys monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, ensuring accuracy and timely submission to management.
  • Oversee the general ledger, journal entries, and account reconciliations, ensuring proper documentation and compliance with financial standards.
  • Lead the month-end and year-end closing processes, coordinating with relevant teams for completeness and accuracy.
  • Conduct variance analyses on budgets vs. actuals and provide actionable insights to management.

Budgeting & Forecasting

  • Lead the development of the annual operating budget in coordination with department heads and project teams.
  • Prepare and update cash flow forecasts, taking into account project timelines, billing cycles, and vendor payment schedules.
  • Monitor capital expenditures and ensure adherence to approved budgets.

Project Cost Monitoring

  • Track and review project-level financial performance, including budget allocation, actual spending, and cost deviations.
  • Work closely with project managers and procurement to analyze financial data per project, assess financial risks, and recommend cost-effective strategies.
  • Develop and maintain standardized project cost monitoring reports for internal use.

Internal Controls & Compliance

  • Design, implement, and maintain internal control systems to ensure financial integrity and safeguard company assets.
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies and procedures, and provide recommendations for process improvements.
  • Prepare documentation and support requirements for internal and external audits.

Team Leadership & Collaboration

  • Supervise and mentor a team of accounting staff, ensuring proper task delegation, performance monitoring, and staff development.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional departments to ensure alignment of financial practices and support business operations.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for internal financial inquiries and reporting requirements.

Regulatory Compliance & Risk Management

  • Ensure compliance with local financial regulations, tax filings, and statutory reporting requirements.
  • Monitor and manage financial risks associated with project execution, vendor transactions, and budget constraints.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Accountancy, Finance, or a related field (Certified Public Accountant is strongly preferred).
  • Minimum of 8-10 years of progressive experience in accounting or financial management, with at least 3 years in a supervisory or managerial capacity.
  • Solid understanding of construction or project-based accounting and financial planning.
  • Proficient in using ERP or accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Xero) and advanced Excel functions.
  • Knowledgeable in taxation laws, financial standards, and regulatory frameworks relevant to the Philippines.
  • Strong leadership, analytical, and communication skills.
