Job Overview:

The Rebar Estimator will be responsible for preparing comprehensive and accurate cost estimates for rebar supply and fabrication projects. This role heavily leverages Building Information Models (BIM) to perform precise quantity take-offs for rebar, playing a key part in project feasibility, budgeting, bid preparation, and ensuring all financial aspects of rebar supply are thoroughly analyzed and accounted for.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in rebar estimation, with a proven experience in estimating rebar projects for fabrication and supply.
  • Strong proficiency in rebar estimation software and tools.
  • Demonstrated expertise in BIM-based quantity take-offs for rebar, utilizing tools integrated with or alongside Tekla Structures, Revit, or Navisworks Quantify.
  • In-depth knowledge of rebar material types, grades, fabrication processes, labor costs for cutting/bending, and market pricing for rebar.
  • Excellent analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills specific to rebar quantification and costing.
  • Strong negotiation and communication abilities, with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Must have work experience within the construction industry or rebar fabrication/supplies company.
  • Must be willing to work in either Makati or Taguig area.
  • Must be amenable to work in either mid-shift or night

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Prepare detailed cost estimates for rebar supply, fabrication, and sometimes installation for various construction projects, utilizing BIM models for precise quantity take-offs.
  • Analyze structural drawings, rebar detailing drawings, specifications, and other project documentation to determine the exact scope of rebar work.
  • Conduct thorough research on rebar material costs, fabrication labor rates, transport, and other related expenses.
  • Collaborate with BIM Rebar Detailers and Coordinators to extract accurate rebar data (e.g., bar marks, shapes, lengths, weights) directly from the BIM models for estimation.
  • Identify potential risks and opportunities related to rebar costs and propose value engineering solutions or alternative rebar specifications.
  • Prepare comprehensive bid proposals and tender documents for rebar supply and fabrication.
  • Present rebar cost estimates to clients and internal stakeholders, clearly articulating assumptions, scope inclusions/exclusions, and justifications.
  • Maintain and update a database of historical rebar cost data, market trends, and supplier pricing.
  • Participate in project reviews and provide cost analysis support for rebar components throughout the project lifecycle.
