Overview:
The VP, Information Technology is a strategic leader responsible for defining and executing the overall technology vision and strategy, ensuring alignment with the company's business objectives and growth initiatives. This role oversees all aspects of the IT landscape, including infrastructure, applications, cybersecurity, data management, and digital innovation. The VP will drive digital transformation, foster a culture of technological excellence, and ensure IT delivers measurable business value across the enterprise.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic IT Leadership: Develop and implement a comprehensive IT strategy and roadmap that directly supports and enables the company's long-term business goals, focusing on enhanced customer experience, operational efficiency, and market competitiveness in retail.
- Digital Transformation: Lead and champion digital transformation initiatives, leveraging emerging technologies (e.g., AI, IoT, cloud computing, advanced analytics) to innovate retail operations, customer engagement, and supply chain capabilities.
- Technology Governance & Risk Management: Establish and enforce robust IT governance frameworks, policies, and procedures to ensure data security, regulatory compliance, business continuity, and risk mitigation across all IT systems and processes.
- Team Leadership & Development: Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing IT organization, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, continuous learning, and customer-centricity. Oversee talent acquisition, performance management, and career development within the IT department.
- Budget & Resource Management: Manage the overall IT budget, ensuring optimal allocation of resources and cost-effective technology investments that deliver maximum return on investment.
- Stakeholder Management: Collaborate effectively with executive leadership, business unit heads, and other stakeholders to understand their technology needs, prioritize initiatives, and communicate IT value and progress.
- Vendor & Partner Management: Cultivate and manage strategic relationships with technology vendors, service providers, and partners, negotiating contracts and ensuring high-quality service delivery.
- Operational Excellence: Oversee the reliable, secure, and efficient operation of all IT systems and infrastructure, ensuring high availability and performance to support critical retail operations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
- Minimum of 15 years of progressive experience in IT leadership roles, with at least 5 years at a Senior Director or VP level in a large, complex organization.
- Demonstrating a deep understanding of retail IT systems, challenges, and opportunities (e.g., POS, ERP, CRM, E-commerce, supply chain).
- Strong strategic planning and execution skills, with the ability to translate business objectives into tangible IT initiatives.
- Extensive experience with digital transformation, cloud adoption, cybersecurity, and data analytics.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and inspire at all levels.
- Demonstrated ability to manage large budgets and diverse technical teams.
