Job Overview:

The BIM Rebar Checker is crucial for ensuring the quality, accuracy, and compliance of Building Information Models (BIM) for rebar and steel reinforcement throughout the project lifecycle. This role involves meticulous review of rebar BIM models against structural designs, fabrication requirements, and established quality protocols, playing a vital role in identifying errors, inconsistencies, and potential fabrication or installation issues.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2-5 years of experience in rebar detailing, design, or coordination, with a strong focus on quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC).
  • Proficiency in rebar detailing and BIM software (e.g., Tekla Structures [required], Revit with rebar extensions, Navisworks) and specialized model checking tools.
  • Thorough understanding of rebar standards, fabrication tolerances, data integrity, and rebar model QA/QC processes.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and analytical skills for identifying discrepancies in complex rebar arrangements.
  • Strong knowledge of structural engineering principles, concrete construction, and rebar shop drawing conventions.
  • Ability to communicate technical information and review findings clearly and concisely.
  • Must have work experience within the construction industry or rebar fabrication/supplies company.
  • Must be willing to work in either Makati or Taguig area.
  • Must be amenable to work in either mid-shift or night

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Perform comprehensive quality checks on BIM rebar models received from detailers to ensure accuracy, completeness, and adherence to structural drawings, specifications, and rebar detailing standards.
  • Identify and report inconsistencies, errors, and omissions within the rebar models, bar lists, bending schedules, and shop drawings.
  • Utilize specialized BIM checking tools and manual review techniques to validate rebar geometry, data attributes (e.g., bar marks, sizes, lengths), and information flow.
  • Verify compliance with the project's BIM Execution Plan (BEP) and specific rebar fabrication requirements.
  • Conduct detailed clash detection reviews focusing on rebar elements, ensuring all detected clashes are accurately identified and documented for resolution.
  • Document all findings, issues, and recommendations in a clear and structured Rebar QA/QC report.
  • Collaborate closely with BIM Rebar Detailers and BIM Rebar Coordinators to facilitate issue resolution and model improvements.
  • Contribute to the development and refinement of rebar BIM QA/QC checklists and procedures specific to rebar fabrication and installation.
