JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Spearhead trend research on forthcoming trends & directions in fashion.
  • Develop and present new season concept, fabric and color direction.
  • Responsible for putting together a comprehensive and well-edited collection in line with the agreed concept and overall business strategy.
  • Lead all concept, line planning and line presentation meetings.
  • Monitor customer feedback in relation to design.
  • Conduct regular market reviews and competitive checks.
  • Competent in dealing with the technical requirements of the job , including material sourcing and development.
  • Ensure compliance in Merchandise Working Calendar (MWC) Timelines & policies
  • Highly competent in dealing with the technical requirements of the job, including material sourcing and development.
  • Recommend ideal vendors assignment based on area of expertise

Professional Experience

  • At least 5 years of relevant work experience in a similar field or role. Competencies

Knowledge

  • Design Fundamentals: Proficient in applying color theory, design elements, and producing creative outputs across different media formats.
  • Garment and Textile Technology: Understanding of fabric types, textile characteristics, basic garment construction, pattern making, fashion sketching, and apparel design.
  • Merchandising Acumen: Able to comprehend and analyze the merchandising lifecycle, and familiar with dynamics of the fashion and retail industries.
  • Brand Awareness: Knowledgeable about the brand identity and its intended customer demographic.

Skills

  • Capable of turning creative ideas into visual designs using tools such as CorelDraw, Adobe Photoshop, and Macromedia Freehand.
  • Strong verbal communication skills for expressing ideas clearly.
  • Proven leadership and team management abilities.
  • Excellent at delivering presentations, and skilled in active listening, writing, and overall communication.
  • Effective in problem-solving, with the ability to assess issues logically and take prompt, well-reasoned actions.
