Job Summary:

The Payroll Manager is responsible for overseeing payroll operations, ensuring timely and accurate processing of bi-weekly payroll in compliance with federal and state regulations. The role manages both people and processes, ensuring the integrity of payroll data, and serves as the escalation point for payroll-related concerns. This role requires experience with payroll systems (preferably ADP), attention to detail, and the ability to lead a team of payroll professionals in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Payroll Operations

  • Ensure all time entries, earnings, and reimbursements are approved prior to processing
  • Perform accuracy checks on payroll data and ADP registers before submission
  • Maintain payroll documentation in an organized and compliant manner
  • Safeguard confidentiality of all employee information
  • Generate and deliver payroll reports as needed
  • Download and archive ADP reports for payroll and accounting teams
  • Handle garnishments, wage attachments, and child support in compliance with regulations
  • Create and maintain employee payroll profiles, including tax setup
  • Forecast, file, and monitor payroll taxes
  • Support Payroll Team Lead in developing and improving payroll processes
  • Address employee inquiries and support payroll team members
  • Conduct internal audits to ensure payroll documentation meets audit requirements
  • Manage manual checks and approvals as needed
  • Reconcile H.S.A. deductions and coordinate with Treasury for funding
  • Perform quarterly audits of authorized signature logs
  • Complete all state-required quarterly workforce tracking reports
  • Lead or participate in other assigned payroll-related projects

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Oversee hiring, training, and performance management of payroll team
  • Ensure adherence to organizational policies and employment regulations
  • Resolve escalated issues and manage team performance effectively

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • Minimum of 6 years' experience in end-to-end payroll management or accounting
