The Beauty Unit Director is responsible for the end-to-end performance of the Beauty business unit. He/she will lead a team of brand managers and store operators in daily operations to deliver brand growth and performance metrics across e-commerce platforms.
To thrive in this role within a fast-paced e-commerce startup, the ideal candidate should bring a strong track record of brand building in the online space, combined with strategic thinking, problem-solving capabilities, and solid leadership. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential to effectively guide the team and maintain strong relationships with key external partners.
Key Responsibilities:
- Build and lead a high-performing team to meet brand objectives.
- Create and execute business plans with clear performance indicators supported by robust marketing, sales, and operational strategies.
- Oversee the financial performance and profitability of the business unit.
- Evaluate performance metrics to identify growth opportunities and areas for improvement.
- Share successful strategies and practices across teams and departments.
- Support the development of broader commercial and business strategies.
- Enhance operational efficiency by refining internal processes.
- Coach and support team members to foster professional development.
- Establish and nurture long-term relationships with key stakeholders, including brand partners and e-commerce platforms.
- Drive negotiations and manage annual agreements with brands and platform partners.
- Address and resolve issues with internal and external teams proactively.
- Stay ahead of emerging e-commerce trends and implement strategies for continued growth.
- Prepare and deliver compelling product proposals to both prospective and existing partners.
- Monitor industry developments and competitive landscape for actionable insights.
- Lead the long-term training and development strategy for the team.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 7 years of experience in e-commerce, commercial, or category management roles.
- Bachelors degree in business, communications, or a related field.
- Strong strategic and negotiation skills.
- Experience managing complex projects with high attention to detail.
- Outstanding written and verbal communication abilities.
- Proven leadership and team collaboration skills.
- Excellent multitasking and organizational capabilities.
- Skilled at building lasting relationships with clients and partners.
- Comfortable managing both internal teams and external stakeholders.
- Well-informed on consumer behavior and current industry trends.
