Job Overview
The Accounting Specialist – Reconciliation is responsible for performing accurate account reconciliations, supporting financial reporting, and ensuring compliance with internal and global standards. This role plays a key part in maintaining the integrity of financial data, supporting month-end and year-end close processes, and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives within the finance function.
Key Responsibilities
Account Reconciliation & Closing
- Perform timely and accurate account reconciliations for various balance sheet and income statement accounts.
- Support month-end and year-end closing activities, ensuring completeness and accuracy of financial data.
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies, variances, and reconciling items.
Financial Reporting & Compliance
- Assist in the preparation of financial reports in accordance with company and global standards.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting policies, and regulatory requirements.
Finance Operations Support
- Support core finance processes including Record-to-Report (RTR), Order-to-Cash (OTC), and Cost Management Accounting (CMA).
- Collaborate with cross-functional and global teams to ensure smooth finance operations.
Process Improvement & Transformation
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and automation within reconciliation and reporting activities.
- Participate in finance transformation initiatives and system enhancements.
Team Support & Development
- Provide guidance and support to junior team members when needed.
- Contribute to knowledge sharing and continuous learning within the team.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Experience ranging from Staff to Manager level in accounting or finance roles.
- Strong background in account reconciliation, RTR, OTC, CMA, and general finance operations.
- Exposure to global or shared services finance environments is highly preferred.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.
- Effective communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
