About the job Director of Domestic Logistics
The Director for Domestic Logistics provides executive leadership over the companys nationwide air and sea freight operations across the Philippines. This role is accountable for strategic direction, operational performance, financial outcomes, regulatory compliance, and customer service excellence.
The position oversees end-to-end domestic freight operations, ensuring service reliability across a multi-island network while driving profitability, digital transformation, and scalable growth in a dynamic logistics environment.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Strategic Leadership & Network Development
- Define and execute the domestic freight strategy aligned with corporate growth objectives.
- Identify expansion opportunities across key Philippine trade lanes, ports, and airports.
- Lead network optimization initiatives to improve service coverage, cost efficiency, and asset utilization.
- Champion digital transformation, automation, and systems integration across operations.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance scalability and service consistency.
2. Operations & Service Excellence
- Provide executive oversight of nationwide air and sea freight operations.
- Ensure on-time departures and arrivals, cargo integrity, and operational efficiency.
- Establish, monitor, and improve KPIs related to:
- Service reliability
- Turnaround times
- Capacity utilization
- Operating margins
- Ensure seamless cross-functional coordination between Operations, Commercial, Finance, Customer Service, and external logistics partners.
- Standardize operating procedures across all domestic hubs and branches.
3. Financial & Commercial Accountability
- Own full P&L responsibility for the domestic freight business.
- Lead budgeting, forecasting, cost optimization, and margin improvement initiatives.
- Drive yield management and pricing discipline in coordination with commercial teams.
- Support major contract negotiations and strategic customer engagements.
- Ensure disciplined capital allocation and ROI-driven investment decisions.
4. Regulatory, Compliance & Risk Management
- Ensure full compliance with Philippine transportation, maritime, aviation, and customs regulations.
- Oversee safety, security, and operational risk management frameworks.
- Develop contingency planning and business continuity strategies, particularly for weather-related disruptions and multi-island operational challenges.
- Maintain strong governance and audit readiness across all sites.
5. Leadership & Organizational Development
- Lead and mentor senior operations managers and regional heads.
- Build leadership depth and succession planning for critical roles.
- Foster a performance-driven culture focused on accountability, collaboration, safety, and continuous improvement.
- Drive talent development and capability building across the organization.
6. Stakeholder & Industry Engagement
- Serve as senior representative to government agencies, regulators, and industry bodies.
- Strengthen strategic relationships with airlines, shipping lines, port operators, and freight partners.
- Maintain executive-level relationships with key accounts and strategic customers.
- Represent the organization in industry forums and supply chain discussions.
Qualifications:
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Logistics, Supply Chain, Maritime Studies, or related discipline.
- MBA or equivalent postgraduate degree strongly preferred.
Experience:
- Minimum 15 years of progressive experience in logistics, freight forwarding, transportation, or supply chain.
- At least 7–10 years in a senior leadership role with direct accountability for air and/or sea freight operations.
- Demonstrated experience managing nationwide, multi-site domestic logistics networks within the Philippines.
- Proven P&L ownership and commercial acumen.
- Strong track record in operational transformation, network optimization, and performance improvement.
