The Project Accountant will be responsible for monitoring project-related costs, budgets, billings, and financial reports for ongoing construction and development projects. The role will work closely with project teams, procurement, finance, contractors, and management to ensure project expenses, documentation, and financial records are properly monitored and aligned with approved budgets.
The ideal candidate should have experience supporting construction, real estate, fit-out, engineering, or project-based operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Financial Monitoring
- Monitor project budgets, expenses, and cash flow utilization
- Track project costs and ensure alignment with approved budgets and timelines
- Assist in preparing budget monitoring reports, cost analyses, and project financial summaries
- Help identify budget variances and cost-related concerns
Billing & Payment Monitoring
- Monitor project billings, progress billings, supplier payments, and contractor disbursements
- Coordinate with procurement, project teams, contractors, and finance regarding project-related expenses and documentation
- Ensure completeness and accuracy of supporting documents for payments and reimbursements
Reporting & Documentation
- Prepare and maintain project monitoring trackers and financial reports
- Assist in preparing project cash flow reports, cost reports, and management updates
- Maintain organized project financial records and documentation
- Support month-end closing and reconciliation of project-related accounts
Coordination & Operational Support
- Coordinate with project managers, Quantity Surveyors (QS), procurement, suppliers, and finance teams
- Support management in monitoring project progress, project costs, and operational concerns
- Assist in improving project monitoring and reporting processes
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Accountancy, Finance, Management Accounting, Industrial Engineering, Construction Management, or related courses
- CPA license is not required

At least 2–5 years of experience in:
- Construction accounting
- Project accounting
- Real estate or property development
- Cost monitoring
- Project finance support
- Procurement or billing coordination
- Experience handling construction or project-based operations is highly preferred
- Familiarity with project budgets, billing processes, and cost monitoring
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets
- Experience using accounting or ERP systems is an advantage
- Strong coordination, analytical, and organizational skills
- Able to work in a fast-paced and cross-functional environment
