Job Summary:
The Business Development Head will lead nationwide expansion and growth initiatives, with primary responsibility for site acquisition, commercial expansion, market penetration, and store network development. The role will play a critical part in driving business growth by identifying strategic locations, managing expansion pipelines, and executing market development plans across multiple business concepts.
This role requires a commercially driven leader with strong expertise in expansion strategy, lease negotiations, real estate evaluation, and multi-site development within highly competitive consumer-driven industries.
The ideal candidate is highly analytical, relationship-oriented, and capable of leading aggressive expansion programs while managing cross-functional stakeholders and operational execution teams.
Key Responsibilities:
Expansion & Growth Strategy
- Develop and execute nationwide expansion strategies aligned with business growth objectives.
- Lead market penetration initiatives and identify new geographic growth opportunities.
- Build and manage short-term and long-term expansion pipelines.
- Support strategic planning initiatives related to new business concepts and future market growth.
Site Acquisition & Market Evaluation
- Lead end-to-end site acquisition activities including market scanning, property sourcing, site evaluation, and commercial negotiations.
- Assess trade areas, demographics, competitor presence, traffic studies, and market potential for prospective locations.
- Conduct financial feasibility studies and return-on-investment assessments for new sites.
- Ensure locations meet operational, commercial, and profitability requirements.
Lease Negotiation & Relationship Management
- Lead lease negotiations, contract renewals, and commercial discussions with landlords and developers.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with mall operators, property developers, brokers, and key industry partners.
- Negotiate favorable commercial terms while ensuring alignment with expansion targets and business objectives.
Project & Store Rollout Management
- Coordinate closely with construction, operations, finance, legal, and marketing teams during store development and rollout.
- Monitor project timelines, opening schedules, permitting requirements, and expansion milestones.
- Ensure timely endorsement and execution of approved store projects.
Leadership & Team Management
- Lead and mentor the business development, expansion, and site acquisition teams.
- Set performance targets and monitor team productivity and pipeline delivery.
- Strengthen team capability in site evaluation, negotiation, market analysis, and project execution.
Stakeholder & Executive Management
- Present expansion updates, pipeline reports, and strategic recommendations to senior leadership.
- Collaborate with executive management on growth planning and investment decisions.
- Support cross-functional initiatives related to operational expansion and commercial growth.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, Real Estate, Engineering, Finance, or related field.
- Strong experience in business development, expansion, store network growth, or site acquisition.
- Background from QSR, retail, food service, hospitality, or other consumer-driven industries is highly preferred.
- Open to candidates from related industries with strong multi-site expansion exposure.
- Proven experience in lease negotiations, site evaluation, and commercial development.
- Strong leadership experience managing expansion or business development teams.
- Excellent negotiation, strategic planning, and stakeholder management skills.
- Willing to travel for site inspections and business requirements.
