Chef de Partie

 Job Description:

Role Overview

As a Chef de Partie, you will take ownership of a specific section of the kitchen and ensure all dishes are prepared to an exceptional standard. Working under the Head Chef and Sous Chef, you'll play a key role in maintaining the efficiency and consistency of service while mentoring junior team members.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and run a designated kitchen section with minimal supervision
  • Prepare, cook, and present dishes to a high standard in line with menu specifications
  • Maintain food quality, consistency, and presentation at all times
  • Supervise and support Commis Chefs and Demi Chefs in your section
  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness and organisation, ensuring full compliance with food safety regulations
  • Monitor portion and waste control to maintain profit margins
  • Report equipment issues or health/safety risks to management immediately
  • Participate in stock rotation, inventory checks, and deliveries as needed

Experience Required

  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a Chef de Partie in a high-end restaurant or hotel environment 
  • Strong understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures
  • Proven ability to manage a section independently and work effectively in 
    high-pressure kitchens
  • Excellent time management and communication skills

Essential Training & Certifications

Candidates must hold or be willing to complete the following (certification required upon request):

  • Basic Food Hygiene
  • DBS
  • Fire Safety
  • COSHH (Control of Substances Hazardous to Health)
  • RIDDOR (Reporting of Injuries, Diseases and Dangerous Occurrences Regulations)
  • Health and Safety Law
  • HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points)
  • Allergen Awareness
  • Manual Handling (desirable)
