Night Porter

Role Overview

As a Night Porter, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, safety, and operation of the hotel during the night. Your duties will include supporting late check-ins and early departures, assisting guests with luggage, conducting security checks, and ensuring public areas remain presentable and welcoming.

Key Responsibilities

  • Welcome and assist guests arriving or departing during the night
  • Carry out regular security and fire safety checks
  • Handle guest enquiries, requests, or issues promptly and professionally
  • Support front desk operations and liaise with night reception where needed
  • Ensure all common/public areas are clean and well-maintained
  • Assist with luggage, room service requests, or porter duties
  • Set up or break down meeting rooms or dining areas as required
  • Report maintenance or safety issues immediately
  • Maintain a calm, reassuring presence during night hours

Experience Required

  • Prior experience in a similar Night Porter or night shift role in the UK is preferred 
  • Knowledge of hotel operations and guest service protocols desirable
  • Comfortable working independently and taking initiative during low-traffic hours

  • Physically fit - able to assist with luggage and general cleaning tasks
  • Flexible and available for night shifts, weekends, and public holidays
  • Eligible to work in the UK and able to travel to Central London or Surrey
