Kitchen Porter

 Job Description:

Role Overview

As a Kitchen Porter, you'll play a vital role in maintaining the cleanliness and hygiene of the kitchen. You'll work alongside chefs and front-of-house teams to ensure equipment, surfaces, and utensils are clean, organised, and safe for food preparation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Wash dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment efficiently and safely
  • Maintain cleanliness of kitchen floors, workstations, and bins
  • Support chefs with basic food prep when required
  • Handle deliveries and organise stock/storage areas
  • Ensure compliance with food hygiene and health & safety standards
  • Remove waste and operate cleaning machinery
  • Perform deep cleaning tasks as instructed by the Head Chef or Kitchen Manager

Experience Required

  • Prior experience as a Kitchen Porter in a professional kitchen is preferred
  • Able to handle physical tasks such as lifting, standing for long periods, and working in a fast-paced environment

Training Required (Trainings can be provided through HTR Recruitment)

  • Food Safety
  • Allergen Awareness
  • HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points)
  • RIDDOR (Reporting of Injuries, Diseases and Dangerous Occurrences Regulations)
  • Health and Safety
  • COSHH (Control of Substances Hazardous to Health)
  • Fire Safety
