Kitchen Assistant

 Job Description:

Role Overview

As a Kitchen Assistant, you will support chefs and kitchen teams in maintaining a clean, organised, and hygienic environment. You'll play a key role in preparing for service, ensuring food areas and equipment are ready for use, and maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and safety.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with basic food preparation tasks as instructed by chefs
  • Keep kitchen areas, utensils, and equipment clean and sanitised
  • Receive and store deliveries safely and correctly
  • Dispose of waste in accordance with health and safety guidelines
  • Maintain stock rotation and label food correctly
  • Ensure strict adherence to hygiene, cleanliness, and safety protocols
  • Work efficiently during busy service times

Requirements

  • Previous experience in a similar Kitchen Assistant or Back of House role is desirable 
  • UK hospitality experience is highly preferred
  • Understanding of kitchen hygiene and cleanliness standards
  • Ability to follow instructions and work under pressure
  • Reliable, punctual, and team-oriented
  • Right to work in the UK
