Service Line Advisor

 Job Description:

Overview:

As a Service Advisor, you will serve as the primary point of contact for customers regarding their vehicle service needs. You will coordinate communication between customers and technicians to ensure a smooth, efficient, and satisfying service experience.

Key Responsibilities:

Customer Interaction & Service Intake:

  • Greet customers professionally and actively listen to their vehicle concerns.

  • Assess vehicle conditions and history; advise on necessary services or repairs.

  • Add open recalls and RSUs to scheduled service appointments.

Repair Order Management:

  • Prepare clear, accurate repair orders detailing issues, required services, and estimated costs.

  • Communicate technical information in simple terms customers can understand.

Coordination & Communication:

  • Dispatch vehicles to technicians for diagnosis and repairs.

  • Collaborate closely with technicians to ensure timely and accurate repair completion.

  • Maintain scheduling for customer vehicle returns after service is complete.

Customer Relations & Satisfaction:

  • Provide updates to customers on service progress and estimated completion times.

  • Handle customer complaints with professionalism and work to resolve issues.

  • Maintain and manage customer loaner vehicle logs and ensure proper upkeep of the loaner fleet.

Continuous Learning:

  • Stay current with automotive service trends, technologies, and best practices.

Requirements:

Education & Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • Prior experience in customer service, preferably within the automotive industry.

  • Basic knowledge of automotive systems and repair procedures.

Skills & Abilities:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.

  • Ability to manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.

  • Detail-oriented with a focus on accurate documentation.

  • Valid drivers license.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand, walk, and sit for extended periods.

  • Occasionally lift and carry items weighing up to 25 pounds.
