Are you an experienced Exhibit/Sponsorship Manager seeking new challenges with an innovative, diverse and community development driven association? The Exhibits/Sponsorship Manager will be responsible for selling and managing exhibit booths, sponsorships, and advertising for the Association, as well as full logistical management of the associations annual tradeshow. The position will be responsible for developing accurate budget projections, tracking, analyzing, and reporting on exhibit, sponsorship, advertising sales.

Additionally, the ideal candidate will collaborate with the Communication and Conferences teams to assist with execution of NAHROs annual conferences, as needed.

Successful candidates for this position will share NAHROs commitment to its diverse membership and mission and will bring expertise in the management of exhibits and sponsorships to the organization to support its growth and scale.

Required Education and Experience:

NAHRO seeks candidates who bring a variety of experiences and attributes including:

Bachelors Degree from an accredited college or university and a minimum of three years of experience with sales and management of exhibits, sponsorship and advertising; and coordinating on-site logistics for exhibitors and sponsors.

Must have exceptional attention to detail, excellent customer service and sales skills and be able to identify opportunities/overcome objections. Must be able to work independently and be a strong collaborator. Must be technology-able, with experience with a2z and WordPress. Some design and layout, desktop publishing skills preferred. Other equivalent combination of education and experience which meet the minimum qualifications requirement, may be substituted.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Exhibit Sales and Management:

  • Solicits new exhibitors and confirms previous exhibitors for NAHROs Annual Conference to meet sales/budget projections.
  • Collaborates with Director of Conferences and Director of Communications to develop budget goals, sales plans and marketing and promotion campaigns.
  • Manages the sales process from pricing through contract execution, payment, and financial record keeping and reporting.
  • Establishes and maintain successful customer relationships, including identifying customer needs while applying skills and knowledge to determine solutions and identify opportunities.
  • Manages retention strategies and strategies for generating leads.
  • Designs exhibitor prospectus.
  • Updates and maintains exhibitor data in association management system (AMS).
  • Maintains exhibitor information on website.
  • Coordinates operation production schedules for pre-show marketing, pre-show communications, on-site logistics, and post-show communications and evaluations.
  • Works with on-site decorator to confirm exhibitor kit info.
  • Selects/confirms exhibit hall vendors, confirms all logistics with vendors.
  • Handles all details for on-site re-book for following year.
  • Manages onsite exhibit hall from set-up through tear down.
  • Works with Finance department to ensure that invoicing and billing are done promptly and correctly.

Sponsorship and Advertising Sales and Management:

  • Solicits new and confirms previous sponsors and advertisers for NAHRO to meet sales/budget projections.
  • Collaborates with Director of Conferences and Director of Communications to develop budget goals, sales plans and marketing and promotion campaigns.
  • Manages the sales process from pricing through contract execution, payment, and financial record keeping and reporting.

  • Manages retention strategies and strategies for generating leads.
  • Designs sponsorship/adverting prospectus.
  • Manages fulfillments of all sponsorship/advertiser agreements.
  • Markets sponsorships and ads for NAHRO publications, including the NAHRO website, the print and email NAHRO Monitor, the online (and maybe print) annual Buyers Guide, the online and email Journal of Housing and Community Development, the email Direct News and the email Executive Brief.
  • Works with the Professional Development department to produce and host sponsored webinars.
  • Works with the Marketing Manager to produce the annual Buyers Guide.

Benefits and Compensation:

Starting salary range for the Exhibits and Sponsorship Manager position is between $58,700 to $73,400; commensurate with experience. This position is based in Washington, DC.
