RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Evaluating different suppliers based on quality, timeliness, and price;
  • Selecting suppliers, build and maintains relationships with vendors/carriers;
  • Prepares and processes purchase orders for materials, services, and equipment;
  • Drafts, explains, and implements instructions, policies, and procedures for purchasing and contract management;
  • Managing daily purchasing/transport activities, supervising staff, and allocating tasks;
  • Managing supplier relations and negotiating contracts, prices, timelines, as well as other commercial conditions, crafting negotiation strategies and closing deals with optimal terms;
  • Maintaining the supplier database, purchase records, and related documentation;
  • Coordinating with inventory control to determine and manage inventory needs;
  • Ensuring that all procured items meet the required quality standards and specifications;
  • Preparing cost estimates and managing budgets;
  • Developing, leading, and executing purchasing strategies;
  • Tracking and reporting key functional metrics to reduce expenses and improve effectiveness;
  • Keep track of slow moving and obsolete stock;
  • Planning and monitoring inbound and outgoing deliveries;
  • Recommend optimal transport modes, routes or frequency;
  • Ensure carrier/vendors compliance with company policies;
  • Resolve problems concerning transportation, logistics systems, imports or exports or customer issues;
  • Identify savings by removing waste or unnecessary steps in the logistics process.
    
    
    Abilities:
    
    
  • Bachelors degree / minimum;
  • Experience as a purchasing or logistics manager / or a similar role / at least 2 years;
  • Solid understanding of supply chain management, logistics and inventory management;
  • Supervisory and management experience;.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office;
  • SAP knowledge would be an advantage;
  • Fluent English is preferable;
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal;
  • Strong critical thinking and negotiation skills;
  • Strong planning and organizational skills;
  • Research and analytical skills
