Application Designer Lead

 Job Description:

The Application Designer is responsible to understand the business objectives and requirements (including the user stories and required user experience (UI/UX/IX)) and design critical components of an application to deliver the requested functionality and help achieve the client business objectives. The Application Designer is dedicated to quality and use their functional, technical and problem-solving skills to delivering value to the client by creating custom and/or software application designs and code.

Basic Qualifications:

 

·         Minimum of 7-years’ experience in Application Design with the ability to translate business requirements/user stories/visual designs into mobile/web technical designs and API/Microservices technical designs

·         Minimum of 7-years’ experience developing front-end and/or back-end applications for mobile applications and/or websites (Java, HTML, JavaScript, CSS, Angular, ReactJS, ReactNative, Native iOS or Android – e.g. Xcode, Kotlin)

·         Experience in managing small teams would be an added advantage

·         Ability to write functional specifications and technical documentation as well as integrate and customize third party web/digital applications

·         Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience required

·         Must have good analytical, problem solving and troubleshooting skills

 

Preferred Qualifications:

 

•        Provide analysis and solution design

•        Meet with Product Owners and Business Analysts to create, document and approve designs

•        Attend and facilitate workgroup meetings with Project and Product Owners

•        Document designs and other artefacts to meet the needs of the client for system changes

•        Demonstrate a solid ability to communicate verbally and in writing

•        Ability to gather, review and input from appropriate Build, Training & Test teams
