Senior Business Development Manager (Mining, Mineral and Metal)
Job Description:
Highly motivated and experienced individual who has a proven record of opening doors and developing customer
relationships to grow profitable sales within global or national accounts by securing order targets and maximizing revenue.
It requires calling on existing and/or prospective customers and identifying new business opportunities and successfully
closing deals.
General Requirements:
Work experience: 5 to 15 years
● International experience and exposure is a plus
● National and international travel may be required
Commercial experience
● Demonstrates deep sales experience
● Strong track record of capability to manage and grow accounts
● Understanding of account management, customers, sales channels & third parties
● Demonstrates significant experience in detecting and discussing industry and customer pain points and proposing high
value solutions
● Good knowledge of electrical distribution, automation and control products, solutions, critical power, building
automation
● Experience in applying financial strategies with the client
Leadership
● Ability to mobilize networks and remote team
● Ability to navigate complex matrix organizations in multicultural environment
● Strong initiative, self-starter and highly organized
Communication and Interpersonal skills
● Successful track-record in establishing local customer intimacy through connections at engineering & purchasing
department and key decision makers within the customer organization
● A strong ability to understand complex requirements, able to clearly communicate client needs, challenge the client on
solutions and close a deal.
● Able to politically navigate through an organization; balancing interactions with the Key Decision Maker (likely manager
or director-level) and also reaching senior executive ranks
● Strong influencing skills and intercultural skills
● Tenacity, resilience, emotional intelligence
Languages and education
● Education: Engineering and/or Business degree
● Fluent in English, other languages beneficial
