About the job Marketing Director

This position reports to the Director, Regional Marketing APAC and is part of the APAC Marketing team located in Japan or Hong Kong and will be an on-site role.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Lead the marketing activities of all product areas and marketing segments across the region to successfully achieve targets, working closely with the local Commercial Leaders to continuously exchange and align on strategies and tactics as part of regional leadership teams
  • Define strategic priorities and translate them into successful tactics executed by the team with a strong ROI-based approach to identify, plan, execute, measure and optimize the key initiatives of the team
  • Develop and communicate local key messages, value propositions and marketing programs under cohesive marketing campaigns with a well-defined omni-channel approach
  • Identify all the required sales enablement initiatives that lead to business growth support and react with countermeasures during challenging periods of sales results and leading the team on demand generation to close through leads production, funnel velocity and ramp utilizing a funnel-based approach
  • Identify and drive the execution of activities that support business expansion within existing customer, increasing brand awareness and customer retention
  • Manage directly and through the team members the local KOL networks to reinforce the brand, raise awareness and leverage product champions throughout the regions
  • Build, drive and develop a strong, diverse and inclusive marketing teams


The essential requirements of the job include:

  • Bachelors degree with 10+ years of experience OR
  • Masters degree with 7+ years of experience
  • Proven track record in people management is mandatory
  • Strong experience in working in a cross-functional environment is required
  • Marketing management and/or sales experience in Diagnostics or Device industries is a strong advantage
  • Local network and knowledge of the key stakeholders in the market, including expertise with complex, multi-departmental healthcare sales in Japan and Hong Kong is highly desired
  • It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:
  • Must have excellent communication skills including verbal and written, along with a strong financial and business acumen
  • Proficiency in written and spoken English required. Japanese highly desired.
  • Needs to have a high degree of leadership and able to engage with and successfully influence others from colleagues and customers, ranging from lab technicians to clinical experts
