About the job Senior UI/UX Designer (Figma/E-commerce) - Full Remote Portugal
ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY
Join the eShop team of Switzerland's largest private telecommunications operator, now building out their Lisbon design capability. This is a high-ownership role where your work directly influences how customers experience buying online — from device browsing through plan selection, upsell, and checkout — on a high-traffic commercial platform used by hundreds of thousands of Swiss customers. You'll have real influence, fast feedback loops, and measurable impact on conversion.
Engagement type: Direct Hiring | Level: Senior | Language: English fluent (required) | Location: Portugal-based, fully remote (Lisbon office access)
PROJECT & CONTEXT
You'll be embedded in the eShop / Digital Sales team, owning UX/UI across the full online purchase funnel on sunrise.ch. The scope spans UX audits, user research, wireframes, high-fidelity prototypes, design system maintenance, and close collaboration with engineering to ensure designs ship accurately. You'll work side by side with product, engineering, and business stakeholders across Lisbon and Switzerland — acting as the customer champion in every design decision.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
- 5+ years of UX/UI design experience, ideally on e-commerce, digital sales, or conversion-focused digital products
- Strong portfolio demonstrating interaction design, visual design quality, and — critically — measurable impact on conversion or usability outcomes
- Advanced proficiency in Figma and related design tooling
- Solid understanding of conversion principles, funnel analysis, and usability heuristics — able to turn drop-off data into design decisions and validate changes post-release
- Experience conducting user research and translating findings into personas, journey maps, wireframes, and high-fidelity prototypes
- Ability to run UX/UI audits across a purchase funnel, prioritising fixes by impact and effort
- Experience maintaining design systems and component libraries for consistency across complex digital journeys
- Comfortable working directly with engineering teams to ensure designs are implemented accurately, and contributing to A/B testing programmes
- Strong communicator in English (B2 or above) — confident in cross-team, international collaboration
- Opinionated and bold — able to push back constructively when the data or the user experience calls for it
- Based in Portugal, available to work fully remotely
NICE TO HAVE
- Experience using AI tools for design audits and ideation (e.g. Figma AI, Claude, or similar)
- Degree in Human-Computer Interaction, Interaction Design, UX Design, or a related field
- Basic front-end knowledge (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) to facilitate tighter collaboration with engineering
- Familiarity with accessibility standards (WCAG) and component-based design system governance
- Background in Telco or online subscription sales environments
- German language skills — a meaningful advantage given the Swiss operational context
