This position combines technical depth with strategic influence, offering exposure to enterprise-scale cloud architectures and reinsurance domain expertise.

PROJECT & CONTEXT

Our client is implementing advanced data operations within their UK insurance practice, requiring a senior technical contributor to bridge onshore and offshore teams. The project involves managing critical data pipelines, supporting UAT and production deployments, and ensuring rapid issue resolution aligned with UK business hours. You'll work with modern cloud data platforms, focusing on Databricks implementations within Azure environments, while engaging directly with business stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions. The insurance/reinsurance domain knowledge is essential for effective troubleshooting and solution design.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR (Required)

  • Cloud Expertise: Hands-on experience with Azure Cloud implementation and architecture
  • Data Platforms: Strong proficiency with Databricks for data engineering and analytics
  • Domain Knowledge: Proven experience in the reinsurance or insurance sector
  • Technical Leadership: Ability to guide technical decisions and mentor offshore teams
  • Stakeholder Management: Demonstrated success managing business stakeholder relationships and requirements gathering
  • Collaboration: Experience coordinating between onshore and offshore data engineering teams
  • Testing & Deployment: Hands-on involvement in User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and production release support
  • Problem-Solving: Functional troubleshooting skills for rapid issue resolution
  • Language: B2 English (Upper Intermediate) minimum - essential for UK stakeholder communication
  • Availability: Ability to work aligned with UK time zone hours

NICE TO HAVE (Preferred)

  • Experience with AWS or Google Cloud Platform in addition to Azure
  • Previous consulting experience in similar short-to-medium term engagements
  • Background in cross-functional project delivery within regulated industries
  • Exposure to data governance and compliance frameworks in financial services
