PROJECT & CONTEXT

You'll own and maintain the organization's data classification schema, defining enforceable rules for AI tools across all risk tiers while serving as the authoritative voice on data permissibility. The role involves supporting AI tool request triage, maintaining the AI registry, coordinating vendor data handling assessments, and ensuring robust PII and sensitive data guardrails are documented before go-live. You'll monitor active tools for data boundary drift, detect shadow AI, run quarterly duplicate solution reviews, and flag anomalies in access patterns to Security and Data Governance teams. Partnering closely with Data Engineering ensures governed data pipelines and access controls, while coordinating with Legal incorporates regulatory changes and with HR builds data literacy within AI training programs. You'll prepare Governance Board materials, maintain internal policies and process guides, and track regulatory developments including GDPR, EU AI Act, NIST AI RMF, and ISO 42001.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR (Required)

  • 3-5 years of experience in data governance, data management, or compliance roles
  • Policy documentation expertise: 1-2 years specifically documenting enterprise-level data policies or classification schemas
  • AI/ML governance exposure: Experience with AI/ML governance is a strong plus
  • ITSM platform proficiency: Comfortable managing intake and workflows using ServiceNow or Jira
  • Documentation tools: Proficient with Confluence or Notion for policy and process management
  • Registry management: Experience with registry tools like Airtable or equivalent spreadsheet-based systems
  • Collaboration tools: Comfortable with Miro for process documentation and cross-functional workshops
  • Proactive self-starter: Naturally identifies gaps and addresses them without prompting, with exceptional organizational skills
  • Cross-functional alignment: Confident working across all organizational levels from Data Engineering to Governance Board
  • Structured review processes: Experience managing processes involving multiple stakeholders
  • Communication excellence: Ability to translate complex data policy, classification principles, and regulatory concepts into plain language for non-technical audiences
  • Analytical mindset: Comfortable working with registry data, usage metrics, and risk criteria to draw actionable conclusions
  • Collaborative spirit: Clear communication and ability to work seamlessly with diverse teams
  • Language requirement: Fluent English (mandatory for leadership and client communication)

NICE TO HAVE (Preferred)

  • Regulatory framework familiarity including GDPR, NIST AI RMF, ISO 42001, or EU AI Act
  • Experience with data catalog or data lineage tooling
  • Background in AI/ML risk assessment and mitigation
  • Knowledge of privacy-enhancing technologies and anonymization techniques
  • Experience building data literacy training programs
  • Familiarity with vendor risk assessment processes
