Senior Tech Lead / Solution Architect (.NET/Azure/React) - Remote Portugal

PROJECT & CONTEXT

You'll lead the technical direction of projects built on modern cloud-native architectures using .NET on Azure with React and Next.js frontends.
The role involves designing and implementing scalable microservices architectures while establishing and enforcing engineering best practices, code quality standards, and architectural guidelines.
You'll conduct code reviews, promote knowledge sharing, and foster a strong engineering culture within the team. Working in an Agile environment, you'll proactively identify technical risks and bottlenecks, proposing solutions that balance innovation with pragmatism.
Experience in the fintech industry is highly valued as you'll be working on projects requiring deep understanding of financial systems, security, and compliance requirements.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR (Required)

• 8+ years of software engineering experience with at least 4 years in technical leadership or architecture roles
• .NET proficiency: Strong expertise in .NET framework and ecosystem for building enterprise applications
• Azure cloud platform: Hands-on experience designing and deploying solutions on Microsoft Azure
• Frontend expertise: Experience with React and Next.js for building modern web applications
• Scalable architecture: Proven experience designing and implementing microservices architectures and scalable systems
• DevOps practices: Solid understanding of version control (Git), CI/CD pipelines, and comprehensive testing practices
• Fintech experience: Previous experience in the fintech industry (ideally) understanding financial systems and compliance
• Communication excellence: Strong interpersonal skills with ability to articulate technical concepts to diverse audiences
• Agile methodology: Comfortable working in Agile environments with iterative delivery approaches
• Mentorship background: Experience mentoring or coaching engineers, fostering growth and knowledge sharing
• Language requirement: Fluent English, both written and spoken (mandatory)

NICE TO HAVE (Preferred)

• Experience with additional frontend frameworks or state management libraries
• Knowledge of event-driven architectures and message brokers
• Familiarity with infrastructure as code (Terraform, ARM templates)
• Background in security best practices and compliance frameworks
• Contributions to technical documentation and engineering standards
