About the job Network Solutions Architect (OSS/Telco) - Hybrid Portugal (Porto or Lisbon)
ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY
A major player in the telecommunications sector is looking for a seasoned Network Solutions Architect to join a high-impact consulting engagement in Portugal. This is a senior-level opportunity for someone who thrives at the intersection of complex network architecture and enterprise-scale solution design — working on meaningful infrastructure that connects people and services at scale.
PROJECT & CONTEXT
You'll be working at the heart of a large-scale Telco environment, contributing to end-to-end architecture across OSS domains and multiple network layers. The scope spans RAN, Mobile Core, Transport, IP Core, and Service Platforms (including TV and SIP), with a strong focus on how OSS solutions enable automation, assurance, and operational readiness across the enterprise. Expect complex, multi-stakeholder projects where your architectural decisions carry real weight and long-term impact.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
- Solid understanding of Telco business models and processes, with the ability to connect technical architecture to business outcomes
- Proven experience designing E2E solutions with clear placement of OSS within the broader enterprise architecture
- Deep knowledge of how architecture enables interworking across network domains: RAN, Mobile Core, Transport, IP Core, and service platforms such as TV and SIP
- In-depth understanding of OSS solutions and components across Assurance, Configuration, Planning, and Readiness domains
- Strong grasp of OSS and Automation Architectures, including modern approaches to network operations at scale
- Technical background in Microservices and Automation Platforms, applied in production or large-scale environments
- Hands-on experience in engineering and software architecture design, with the ability to produce and communicate robust architectural artefacts
- Demonstrated track record on complex, large-scale projects — from design through delivery
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to navigate ambiguity and drive clarity in undefined situations
- Effective communication and organisational skills, with the confidence to lead technical conversations across mixed audiences
- English at B2 level (Upper Intermediate) or above — essential for stakeholder engagement and project documentation
- Comfortable operating outside the comfort zone, acquiring new skills as the landscape evolves
NICE TO HAVE
- Previous project management experience or formal PM methodology exposure (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2)
- Familiarity with TM Forum frameworks (e.g., eTOM, TAM, Open APIs)
- Experience with cloud-native network deployments or NFV/SDN environments
- Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices applied to network or OSS solutions
- Background in solution architecture within a consulting or systems integration context
