AI Engineer (LLMs / Machine Learning) – Hybrid Lisbon

PROJECT & CONTEXT

As an AI Engineer, you will focus on designing and delivering AI-powered solutions based on Large Language Models and advanced machine learning techniques. The work centers on building Proofs of Concept (PoCs), validating their business value, and evolving the most promising ideas into robust Minimum Viable Products (MVPs). You will collaborate closely with product, engineering, and data teams to integrate AI into existing platforms or create new AI-driven applications, while ensuring scalability, performance, and reliability in production environments.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR (Required)

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, or a related field
• Proven experience as an AI Engineer or Machine Learning Engineer in production environments
• Strong hands-on knowledge of LLMs (e.g., GPT-4 / GPT-3.5) and prompt-based architectures
• Solid experience with machine learning and deep learning frameworks: PyTorch 2.x, TensorFlow 2.x, Keras, LangChain
• Advanced programming skills in Python 3.10+ and working knowledge of Java
• Experience with data analysis libraries such as NumPy, pandas, and Matplotlib
• Familiarity with cloud platforms and AI services on AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform
• Ability to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• Fluency in English (written and spoken)

NICE TO HAVE (Preferred)

• Experience with big data and distributed processing frameworks such as Apache Spark or Hadoop
• Exposure to MLOps practices, model monitoring, and optimization in production
• Experience mentoring or supporting junior engineers
• Knowledge of containerization and deployment tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes)
• Experience working in remote, cross-border teams
