Java Developer - Equities 

Our client, a leading investment bank, is seeking a skilled Java Developer to contribute to the development and maintenance of innovative systems for equities trading. This is an exciting opportunity to work on high-performance solutions that drive efficiency and scalability in critical financial operations.

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain Java-based applications tailored for equities trading, primarily focusing on backend systems, with potential exposure to front-end components.
• Develop and enhance REST APIs to ensure seamless integration between trading systems.
• Participate in the complete software development lifecycle, including requirements gathering, coding, testing, deployment, and maintenance.
• Collaborate with business teams such as sales, trading, operations, and finance to deliver technical solutions aligned with business goals.
• Work closely with developers and engineers in a collaborative team setting, adhering to agile methodologies and participating in stand-ups, retrospectives, and sprint planning.
• Troubleshoot and resolve production issues, ensuring system reliability and performance.
• Stay current with evolving technology trends and incorporate best practices into development processes.

Required Skills:

• Strong proficiency in Java programming and backend development frameworks.
• Solid understanding of REST APIs and database technologies.
• Experience in software testing, debugging, and delivering high-quality code.
• Familiarity with Agile development practices.
• Knowledge of equities trading processes and financial concepts is a significant advantage.
