Summary

The Healthcare Supply Chain Analysts role is to manage and optimize the flow of products, equipment and supplies across the healthcare supply chain by leveraging data, technology, and predictive and prescriptive analytics tools. The primary objective is to ensure the smooth, efficient, and resilient operation of the end-to-end supply chain from suppliers, manufacturers, distributors, 3rd party logistics/service providers, healthcare facilities, and clinicians to enable delivery of high-quality patient care.

Job Responsibilities

  • Analyse supply chain data: Collect, organize, and analyse data. Generate data insights and potential solutions from a business perspective. Leverage data and develop analytics models to optimize strategic, tactical, and operational supply chain decisions.
  • Inventory management: Track and manage inventory levels, including forecasting demand, determining reorder points, and ensuring stock availability while minimizing excess or obsolete inventory.
  • Supply chain planning: Develop and implement strategies to enhance supply chain efficiency, such as improving procurement processes, reducing lead times, optimizing end-to-end supply chain network configuration, distribution networks, and transport operations.
  • Supplier management: Track supplier key performance indicators (KPIs) and operations data to support collaboration with suppliers, contract negotiations, and ensure timely delivery of high-quality products at competitive prices.
  • Collaboration with internal stakeholders: Work closely with healthcare professionals, operations managers, and finance teams to align supply chain activities with overall organizational goals and objectives.
  • Process improvement: Identify areas for process improvement within the supply chain and provide data-driven analytical support to optimize operations, enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve overall performance.
  • Risk management: Assess and mitigate supply chain risks and disruptions, such as supplier shortages, pricing fluctuations, and regulatory changes. Apply predictive analytics to proactively manage risks and strengthen supply chain resiliency.
  • Technology utilization: Utilize supply chain management software, tools, and digital technology to track and analyse data, enhance decision-making, automate processes, streamline operations across the healthcare supply chain to enhance delivery of high-quality patient care

Technical and Soft Skills:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and develop optimization models to support data-driven decisions.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with various stakeholders.
  • Effective skills in preparing and presenting concise and impactful solutions.
  • Detail-oriented and strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Proficiency in applying AI/Machine Learning tools (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, Python, R) and operations research optimization tools (e.g., Gurobi, Arena, INFOR Supply Chain Network
  • Design, Llamasoft/Coupa Supply Chain Guru, or AIMMS Supply Chain Network Design)
  • Proficiency in programming and data base query tools (MS SQL or Oracle SQL) and data visualization tools (Tableau or Power BI).
  • Experience with big data and cloud computing data platforms (e.g., Amazon Web Services,
  • Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform, or IBM Cloud)
  • Flexibility and adaptability to navigate a dynamic and evolving healthcare environment.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree (Masters degree preferred) in industrial engineering, operations research, supply chain management, data science, computer science, or mathematics.
  • 5+ years of experience in supply chain or logistics operations and business strategy consulting
  • Extensive experience in data analytics, AI/Machine Learning and mathematical optimization
  • Knowledge of supply chain management principles, practices, and methodologies.
