Position Summary:
The Director of FP&A is responsible for leading the companys financial reporting, forecasting, and analytical functions, ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant financial information to support strategic decision-making. This role partners closely with the finance and accounting teams, the CFO, and senior leaders across the organization to align on corporate goals, cash flow management, capital deployment, and expense optimization.
This position will lead the FP&A function in a fast-growing, dynamic environment and is ideal for a finance leader who can own the full suite of financial reporting and analysis while driving strategic initiatives that support organizational growth. The Director of FP&A manages a small team and plays a critical role in board reporting, executive insights, and continuous process improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and oversee financial reporting activities in compliance with GAAP and special-purpose reporting standards
- Serve as a strategic finance partner to executive leadership, supporting departmental goal setting, budgeting, and variance analysis
- Partner with the CFO to prepare board-level financial packages, forecasts, and ad hoc analyses
- Oversee the preparation and timely filing of quarterly and annual financial statements in compliance with regulatory requirements
- Drive enhancements in financial reporting systems and processes, including expanding capabilities within Planful and Blackline and evaluating additional technologies
- Lead financial integration and reporting support for new partners and sales channels
- Monitor emerging accounting and reporting standards, assess organizational impact, and implement necessary changes
- Collaborate cross-functionally to gather financial data, perform analysis, and ensure consistency and accuracy in reporting
- Provide technical accounting guidance for complex transactions across the organization
- Partner with legal and compliance teams to ensure accurate financial disclosures and regulatory compliance
- Support internal and external audit processes and related requests
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance
- Proven FP&A leadership experience in a fast-paced environment; Private Equity–backed experience strongly preferred
- Background in Big 4 accounting, consulting, or investment banking is a plus
- Understanding of insurance-related accounting concepts preferred; prior insurance industry experience is a plus
- Advanced proficiency in Excel and strong experience with financial reporting and planning systems
- Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills with strong attention to detail
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain complex financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and thrive in a dynamic, high-growth environment
- Authorized to work in the United States
