Position Summary
Under the direction of the Director of Finance, Procurement & IT, the Controller will lead site-level accounting and financial reporting functions while providing strategic financial oversight. This role plays a critical part in financial planning, cost control, compliance, and operational decision support for the mine site and corporate stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities

Lead mine-site accounting and financial reporting operations

Provide general accounting oversight, cost accounting, and budgetary controls

Own FP&A activities, including budgeting and forecasting (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow, headcount, and expenses)

Oversee inventory accuracy and cycle counting processes

Track capital project spend and manage capitalization of fixed assets
-
Ensure timely month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close
-
Prepare and analyze financial results versus budget and forecast
-
Prepare financial statements, regulatory filings, and compliance reports
-
Support internal and external audits and implement corrective actions
-
Produce ad hoc financial reports for site and corporate leadership
-
Ensure adherence to corporate and site financial policies and procedures
-
Lead continuous improvement initiatives with operating departments
-
Collaborate cross-functionally with operations, procurement, and corporate teams
-
Maintain confidentiality and security of financial information
-
Assist with implementation and optimization of integrated financial systems
-
Perform additional duties as assigned
MUST-HAVE Qualifications
-
Minimum 5 years of experience as a financial leader (public company experience preferred)

Strong expertise in Excel and QuickBooks
-
Experience with FP&A, budgeting, and forecasting
-
Experience with construction project management and agile/lean practices
-
Experience selecting and implementing ERP systems in a mining, industrial, or manufacturing environment
-
Strong knowledge of internal controls and SOX implementation
-
Knowledge of tax and transfer pricing issues
-
Strong understanding of IFRS accounting standards and best practices
-
Authorized to work in the United States
Nice to Have

CPA designation (preferred, not required)
