Marketing Manager

 Job Description:

Marketing Manager

Consumer Lending | Lead Generation | Fintech

Position: Marketing Manager

Department: Marketing

Reports To: CEO

Employment Type: Full-Time

Location: Remote

Primary Channel: SMS (with Email & PPC)

About the Company

We are a fintech and lead generation business operating across the US and Canadian markets, connecting consumers with personal lending products through owned marketing channels. SMS is our primary channel, complemented by email and PPC programs. The operation is lean, data-driven, and performance-focused, running campaigns at high daily volumes with real-time monitoring of delivery, conversion, and revenue metrics.

The Opportunity

We are looking for a hands-on Marketing Manager to take full ownership of our SMS operation — the company’s core revenue channel — while also overseeing email and PPC programs. The current SMS program runs daily at scale across multiple platforms and carriers, requires active daily management, and is directly tied to revenue. This is not a planning or oversight role. The right person is a practitioner who has personally managed high-volume SMS programs in regulated industries and can step in, understand a complex operation quickly, and drive measurable improvement across all three channels.

The role reports directly to the CEO and comes with a clear growth path. Strong performance leads to expanded scope and a path to senior marketing leadership.

What You Will Own

Daily SMS Campaign Operations

  • Set daily send volumes per platform, list, and carrier based on data availability, performance, and cost targets

  • Write and update SMS message templates as needed — including A/B variants by platform, brand, and send type (transactional vs. bulk)

  • Monitor campaign launch every morning from 7:30 AM EST, ensuring sends go out on time and at the correct volumes

  • Review and act on real-time performance data: delivery rate, click-through rate (CTR), redirect rate, opt-out rate, and revenue per send

SMS Infrastructure & Platform Management

  • Manage multiple SMS sending platforms simultaneously across 10DLC, TFN, and shortcode number types, understanding the characteristics and performance of each vendor

  • Monitor and manage phone number health: track CTR by number, identify degrading numbers, procure replacements, and add new numbers to sending pools

  • Manage vendor accounts including balance monitoring, billing settings, and escalation to vendor support when platform issues arise

  • Coordinate with the development team on webhook integrations, API configurations, lead routing, and new platform onboarding

Carrier Relations & Channel Health

  • Monitor and actively manage opt-out rates by carrier and platform

  • Manage carrier-level caps (e.g., daily T-Mobile limits) and segment traffic across carriers to maximize deliverable volume

  • Respond to carrier complaints and channel audits: investigate flagged issues, coordinate technical fixes, and manage communication with the carrier or platform to restore channel standing

  • Analyze delivery performance by carrier (AT&T, T-Mobile, Verizon, MVNOs, and unknown/other segments) and adjust traffic routing to optimize results

  • Implement and maintain state-level time zone compliance rules

Contact List & Data Management

  • Manage contact list intake, segmentation, and assignment across SMS platforms and providers

  • Monitor contact data freshness and burn rates — track how quickly lists exhaust, identify repeat-contact patterns, and coordinate new data sourcing

  • Maintain suppression lists and opt-out registries; proactively add fraudulent, undeliverable, or high-risk contacts to prevent compliance exposure

  • Manage undeliverable contact handling: analyze delivery failure statuses, decide whether to retry or suppress, and coordinate system logic with the development team

  • Evaluate incoming contact quality by carrier distribution, geography, and data age before sending

Email Marketing — Oversight

  • Strategic oversight of email campaigns across US and Canadian markets, with day-to-day execution handled by the existing email team

  • Review ESP performance, deliverability health, domain/DNS configuration, and list hygiene

  • Ensure CASL-compliant workflows for Canadian campaigns including consent management and unsubscribe processing

  • Manage warmup account infrastructure for email programs: monitor account health, batch management, and warmup service performance

PPC — Performance Review

  • Oversight of Google Ads campaigns across internal lending and lead generation funnels

  • Monitor redirect rates, CTR, and revenue contribution; identify and investigate performance drops at the start of campaign windows

  • Collaborate with the analytics team on traffic performance analysis and channel comparison reporting

What We Are Looking For

Required Experience

  • Hands-on, practitioner-level experience running SMS marketing at high volume — you have personally managed campaigns, not just overseen them

  • Deep knowledge of SMS infrastructure: 10DLC, TFN, and shortcode number types; platform operations for providers such as Infobip, Twilio, ClickSend, Wavix, or equivalents

  • Working knowledge of carrier ecosystem: understanding how AT&T, T-Mobile, Verizon, and MVNOs behave differently and how to manage traffic across them

  • Strong understanding of TCPA compliance, opt-out management, and carrier complaint response processes

  • Experience with message character encoding, multi-part SMS management, and template optimization for deliverability

  • Background in consumer lending, personal finance, lead generation, or fintech strongly preferred

  • Solid email marketing experience: ESP platforms, domain health, deliverability

  • Familiarity with PPC (Google Ads): campaign structure, performance monitoring, and redirect/conversion analysis

The Right Mindset

  • You own problems end-to-end — you identify issues, investigate root causes, and fix them without waiting to be asked

  • You are available and actively monitoring during campaign windows starting at 7:30 AM; your schedule aligns with when the business operates

  • You make decisions based on data and act quickly when metrics move in the wrong direction

  • You are comfortable managing multiple platforms, vendors, and moving parts simultaneously without losing track of what matters

  • You are looking for a role where strong results are recognized and lead to expanded responsibility and career growth
