Job Title: Senior Vice President Market Business Development
Location: Candidates must be based in either Beijing, Shanghai, Shenzhen, Guangzhou.
Type: Full-time (Consultancy Contract)
We are partnering with a leading global financial hub that is expanding its reach into China. They are seeking a Senior Vice President Market Business Development to lead commercial outreach and build strategic relationships with firms operating in Wealth and Asset Management, Family Offices, Banking and Capital Markets, FinTech, and Corporate Services.
This is a high-impact, relationship-driven role focused on market development, stakeholder engagement, and the delivery of qualified strategic leads to the organisations Dubai-based HQ.
Key Responsibilities
Market Development & Commercial Growth
- Identify new commercial opportunities in China aligned to the platforms target sectors
- Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with financial institutions, family offices, fintech players, and corporate service providers
- Leverage established connections within government and regulatory bodies to facilitate strategic growth
Client Engagement & Relationship Building
- Act as the organisations senior representative in the China market
- Develop tailored market-entry pitches, presentations, and follow-up strategies for senior clients
- Serve as a trusted advisor, guiding stakeholders through the platforms value proposition
Strategic Lead Generation & Pipeline Management
- Build and manage a pipeline of high-quality prospects and partnerships
- Engage in proactive outreach and participate in key regional and national business forums
- Feed qualified leads to the Dubai HQ with regular updates and collaboration with internal stakeholders
External Representation
- Represent the platform at high-level events, roundtables, and delegations across China
- Build long-term brand awareness and credibility with strategic partners in the region
Qualifications and Experience
- 10+ years of experience in business development, commercial strategy, or client-facing roles within financial services or professional services
- Strong track record of operating independently in the China market
- Deep understanding of financial services sectors, particularly wealth and asset management
- Existing relationships with relevant government bodies and regulatory institutions in China
- Excellent presentation and communication skills in both English and Mandarin
- Experience working in or with international organisations is a plus
