Job Title: Senior Embedded Security Engineer

We're working with a technology leader specializing in secure communication solutions, providing advanced cyber capabilities for critical industries. Their solutions span secure networks, ultra-secure mobile devices, applications, and satellite communications, with a mission to deliver robust, end-to-end cybersecurity frameworks. They are now looking for a Senior Embedded Security Engineer to enhance the security architecture of their embedded systems.
Key Responsibilities
Embedded Security Development
- Develop and implement Secure Boot mechanisms for Intel, NXP Layerscape, and Xilinx Zynq PS platforms.
- Design and deploy disk encryption and decryption solutions using libraries like OpenSSL and WolfSSL.
- Integrate hardware security technologies such as TrustZone, TPMs, and Hardware Security Modules (HSMs).
Key Management & Cryptography
- Architect and implement a secure Key Management System (KMS) for key generation, storage, and distribution.
- Develop and refine key loading processes, including secure bootstrapping and over-the-air (OTA) updates.
- Implement advanced cryptographic protocols for secure key exchange and firmware authentication.
Network Security & Protocols
- Design and maintain secure communication protocols for embedded systems.
- Implement IPSec, TLS, and other protocols to ensure secure data transmission across networks.
- Apply COMSEC measures for secure data handling and tamper resistance.
Performance Optimization
- Optimize cryptographic algorithms for performance and efficiency on resource-constrained embedded platforms.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards like FIPS 140-3, NSA Suite B, and NIST guidelines.
Experience:
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in embedded systems security, with a focus on Linux-based environments.
- Proficiency in Secure Boot, disk encryption, and key management solutions.
- Strong knowledge of cryptographic algorithms (e.g., AES, RSA, ECC) and libraries like OpenSSL/WolfSSL.
- Experience with embedded platforms, including Intel, NXP Layerscape, and Xilinx Zynq PS.
- Familiarity with security protocols such as IPSec, TLS, and secure communication frameworks.
- Understanding of hardware security technologies like TrustZone, TPMs, and HSMs.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical/Computer Engineering, or a related field.
