Senior RF Systems Test Engineer

Senior Test Engineer – Hardware / RF Systems
Location: Abu Dhabi, UAE

We are looking for an experienced Senior Test Engineer to join a highly technical engineering team developing and validating advanced RF, Software Defined Radio (SDR) and communication systems. This is a hands-on engineering position focused on system-level testing, RF performance validation, HW/SW integration, product qualification and complex laboratory test environments.

Responsibilities

System Test & Verification

• Translate system-level requirements into measurable test cases, test procedures and verification activities.
• Plan and execute end-to-end system testing across laboratory and field environments.
• Evaluate system performance and troubleshoot complex operational issues.
• Produce detailed test plans, test reports and validation results.
• Support system-level verification across integrated hardware and software platforms.

RF / SDR Testing

• Characterise and validate the performance of RF and SDR system components.
• Perform hands-on testing using RF laboratory equipment including spectrum analysers, network analysers, channel simulators/emulators and related test instrumentation.
• Investigate RF performance issues and support system-level troubleshooting.
• Work closely with RF, waveform, systems, hardware and software engineering teams.

Hardware / Software Integration

• Perform hands-on HW/SW system integration and troubleshooting in complex laboratory environments.
• Identify, specify and build the hardware and software test resources required for project validation.
• Develop test and measurement solutions using Python, MATLAB, C/C++ or equivalent programming languages.
• Support automation of laboratory testing and measurement activities.

Product Qualification

• Support product qualification and environmental testing.
• Perform or coordinate testing covering areas such as vibration, temperature, humidity, shock and EMI/EMC.
• Support compliance and qualification activities against applicable standards.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electronic, Electrical, Computer Engineering or a related discipline.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of relevant experience in test, verification, validation or systems integration.
• Strong hands-on experience with RF, SDR and/or wireless communication systems.
• Strong understanding of RF fundamentals and test & measurement techniques.
• Hands-on experience with equipment such as spectrum analysers, network analysers, channel emulators/simulators, signal generators or similar RF instrumentation.
• Experience with hardware/software integration and system-level troubleshooting.
• Experience developing and executing test plans, test cases and verification procedures.
• Programming or test automation experience using Python, MATLAB, C/C++ or similar.
• Experience with environmental/product qualification, EMI/EMC, vibration, thermal, humidity or shock testing is highly desirable.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
