Our client is a fast-growing fintech company expanding across Southeast Asia.
They offer Buy Now, Pay Later (BNPL) and embedded finance solutions and are preparing to launch operations in Indonesia through a formal partnership with a licensed local bank.
The company's go-to-market model is built on merchant partnerships, integrations with digital ecosystems, and embedded financial products all delivered through a mobile-first platform.
A soft launch is planned for September 2025, with full-scale rollout in Q4.
Role Overview
They are looking for a hands-on, commercially focused leader to take ownership of strategic partnerships and revenue growth in Indonesia.
This role is ideal for someone who understands fintech, lending, or payments and has built and managed partnerships that drive real commercial results.
The Head of Partnerships will be a key part of the early-stage leadership team and play a central role in building the company's local footprint.
Key Responsibilities
Partnership Strategy & Development
- Identify, develop, and close merchant partnerships, platforms, aggregators, and distribution channels.
- Build relationships within and outside the partner bank ecosystem (including retail, digital commerce, and services sectors).
- Develop proposals, commercial terms, and integration plans that align with the product and risk teams.
Revenue Generation
- Own and deliver on revenue targets linked to user acquisition and transaction volumes via partners.
- Work closely with marketing and product teams to design go-to-market initiatives with key partners.
Account Management & Expansion
- Manage and deepen existing partnerships; identify upsell/cross-sell opportunities.
- Create frameworks for onboarding, tracking, and measuring partner performance.
Internal Collaboration
- Work closely with product, tech, and HQ teams to ensure partner needs are aligned with product roadmaps.
- Provide market intelligence, feedback loops, and insights to regional and HQ leadership.
Team Building
- Support hiring and onboarding of junior BD, account managers, or support functions as the business scales.
Ideal Candidate Profile
Background
- 8+ years of experience in strategic partnerships, business development, or commercial leadership roles.
- Prior experience in fintech, payments, BNPL, lending, or digital consumer platforms.
- Has worked in high-growth or startup environments, ideally in a scaling phase.
Skills & Strengths
- Strong network across merchants, aggregators, or digital platforms in Indonesia.
- Proven ability to structure, negotiate, and close commercial deals with measurable revenue impact.
- Strategic thinker who can balance partner needs with company priorities.
- Clear communicator, both externally with partners and internally with cross-functional teams.
- Entrepreneurial mindset proactive, adaptable, and comfortable in a fast-moving environment.
