Position: Deaf and Hard of Hearing Teacher

A US school district is seeking a passionate and dedicated Deaf and Hard of Hearing Teacher to join our team. Responsibilities:

- Plan and deliver effective instruction to students who are deaf or hard of hearing, utilizing a variety of teaching strategies and accommodations to meet individual needs

- Develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) for students with hearing impairments, in collaboration with parents, school staff, and other professionals

- Utilize assistive technology and other resources to support students' learning and communication

- Assess students' progress and provide ongoing feedback and support to ensure their academic and social success

- Collaborate with other teachers, support staff, and community resources to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment

- Educate and support peers and school staff on strategies for working with students who are deaf or hard of hearing

- Attend and actively participate in team meetings, professional development, and other school events

- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student progress and communicate regularly with parents and caregivers

- Stay current with best practices and research in the field of deaf education and implement them in the classroom

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Deaf Education, Special Education, or a related field

- Valid teaching certification in ASL and Signing exact English is a must

- Fluency in American Sign Language (ASL) and knowledge of other communication modes used by students who are deaf or hard of hearing

- Experience working with students who are deaf or hard of hearing, preferably in a school setting

- Knowledge of assistive technology and other resources for students with hearing impairments

- Strong communication and collaboration skills

- Ability to differentiate instruction and adapt to the individual needs of students

- Commitment to providing an inclusive and supportive learning environment for all students

- Passion for teaching and making a positive impact on students' lives
