We are a leading MEP consulting engineering firm seeking a skilled Electrical Engineer to join our team in Ames, our new Des Moines office, or Omaha, NE. This is an exciting opportunity to work on high-profile projects alongside prestigious institutions and top-tier architects in the education and civic sectors.

As an Electrical Engineer, youll play a key role in designing and managing electrical and lighting systems for projects across central Iowa. The ideal candidate is a technically proficient engineer ready to take on both project management and client-facing responsibilities. This role offers significant opportunities for career advancement as the firm continues to grow.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and analysis of building electrical systems including power, lighting, and fire alarms
• Design of low-voltage systems (e.g., communications, security, public address, fire alarm)
• Perform code reviews and electrical system calculations
• Create construction drawings and specifications using design software
• Participate in construction phase services: submittal reviews, site visits, contractor coordination, and issue resolution

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience designing electrical systems for buildings
• Proficiency with power distribution and lighting systems design
• Experience with Revit and other electrical design software
• Strong collaboration and client communication skills
• PE license in Iowa or Nebraska is a plus, but not required
• Experience with telecom, security, or AV systems is a plus
