ROLE OVERVIEW
We are looking for a Medical Records Specialist to be part of our team.
This role plays a critical part in ensuring the accuracy, completeness, and usability of underwriting data used for analytics, summaries, and decision-support tools. The position involves medical record quality review, clinical data interpretation, and validation of AI-assisted or system-generated outputs while maintaining high standards for productivity, accuracy, and data security.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
- Review and validate medical records for completeness, legibility, accuracy, and consistency.
- Review, refine, and validate AI-assisted or system-generated outputs to ensure alignment with source documents.
- Interpret medical records across multiple provider types and specialties including hospitals, clinics, specialists, financial records, government documents, and insurance applications.
- Accurately identify and interpret diagnoses, medications, procedures, laboratory results, vital signs, and timelines.
- Identify gaps, discrepancies, duplications, and conflicting information and escalate as necessary.
- Ensure all required data is captured while removing unnecessary or irrelevant information based on established guidelines.
- Maintain strict HIPAA and data security compliance at all times.
- Meet established quality, accuracy, and productivity targets.
- Maintain focus and accuracy during extended periods of detailed medical record review.
- Adapt to evolving tools, workflows, and AI-driven processes.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support operational efficiency and quality objectives.
REQUIREMENTS
- At least 12–18 months of experience in healthcare operations, medical records review, QA, or a process-driven role.
- Strong understanding of clinical concepts including diagnoses, medications, procedures, laboratory results, vital signs, and timelines.
- Typing speed of at least 50 WPM with 95% accuracy.
- Excellent reading comprehension, analytical, and attention-to-detail skills.
- Ability to process large, complex, and unstructured medical records efficiently.
- Strong time management, prioritization, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and willingness to learn new platforms.
- Bachelors degree or equivalent experience is preferred.
- Experience in U.S. healthcare data review, medical coding, clinical documentation, or familiarity with U.S. healthcare systems is an advantage.
- Willing to work on a shifting schedule.
- Willing to work onsite at Tower 1, Rockwell Business Center, Ortigas (beside The Medical City).
