ROLE OVERVIEW

We are looking for a Paralegal to be part of our team.

  • As a Paralegal, you shall be responsible for assisting attorneys with processing legal documents, reviewing case schedules, and responding to client or case-related communications. You will also be responsible for ensuring all deadlines and hearings are accurately recorded and tracked.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

The Paralegal shall perform duties and responsibilities including but not limited to the following:

  • Check and respond to all emails from that morning and the previous day; continue to check throughout the day.
  • Process all new legal documents or filings in your inbox within 24 hours.
  • Read and review case-related messages and respond accordingly. (Open, review, save to client file, calendar key dates and deadlines, send to relevant parties, and record billable time)
  • Return missed calls, check voicemail messages, and clear them once addressed.
  • Review the calendar daily for upcoming appointments, hearings, and deadlines; send reminders to the attorneys.
  • Review all scheduled proceedings for the week to ensure deadlines are met and calendar entries are accurate.
  • Monitor team communication channels regularly throughout the day.
  • When attorneys send you emails in the morning, respond before lunch. If sent in the afternoon, respond before the end of the day. If marked urgent, reply within 15 minutes.
  • Complete all assigned tasks by the end of the day. If unable to do so, notify the attorney in charge immediately.
  • Other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Has experience as paralegal or similar (e.g. as a law firm intern, legal assistant, etc).
  • Local legal experience is accepted and exposure to medical records retrieval or handling is a must.
  • Knowledge of case management tool is a plus.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • High attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  • Must be willing to work on a night shift schedule.
