About the job Accounting Officer, PH
Report to the Finance Manager, this role will be responsible for the full set of
accounts and taxes for two Philippine entities, which are in the business of
insurance brokerage/agency. The candidate will also be assisting the head of
brokerage on some day-to-day tasks. The scope includes but is not limited to the following:
Responsibilities:
- Take care of AR and AP and ensure complete and accurate billing; ensure timely collections and payments; ensure correct taxes apply on each transaction
- Support claim processing for various partnerships
- Maintain balance sheet schedules on a monthly basis Ensure timely and accurate month-end closing
- Ensure timely and accurate tax filing
- Assist with the audit matters
- Assist with the secretarial and other bank matters
- Verify and process staff expense claims
- Manage cash flows and prepare monthly cash flow reports
- Support budgeting and forecasting activities
- Manage the company assets and inventories, including. procurement administration and/or vendor management tasks
- Assisting the head of brokerage on day-to-day tasks: verify users/agents
registration credentials; verify insurance application requirements;
verify/reconcile insurance premium collections/payables; handle basic
allowance and commission payouts to users/agents; handle applicable taxes
- Take care of ad hoc projects or tasks as required
Requirements:
- Diploma/ Degree in Accountancy or equivalent
- At least 2 years of experience taking care of full set of accounts and taxes
- Experience with insurance brokerage is an added advantage
- Proficient in MS Excel and other MS Office applications
- Good verbal and written communication in English
- Excellent attention to detail, strong sense of responsibility and good problem-solving attitude
