About the role

We are seeking an experienced Regional Financial Controller with a strong focus on finance and tax management as well as regional compliance to join our dynamic team.

As a Regional Financial Controller you will be overseeing a team of professionals across the region and play a crucial role in overseeing the full spectrum of accounting, finance and tax matters related to Igloo business, and ensure that all aspects of the finance team are run in a professional and compliant manner reinforcing Igloo's position as a leader in the insurtech industry and advancing our mission of making insurance accessible and affordable across diverse markets.

Job Responsibilities

• Overall responsibility for regional finance function including financial and management reporting, cash flow management, taxation, controlling, treasury, risk, statutory reporting and compliance.
• Financial Reporting and Filing Obligations: Produce accurate and timely financial statements for management review and for external stakeholders; ensure that financial reports for external stakeholders/auditors are in compliance with the relevant accounting and financial standards, income tax regulations and relevant statutory and regulatory requirements; oversee the annual financial audit led by Big 4 and tax filing for all entities
• Cash Flow Management: Monitor and ensure efficient use of Companys working capital components, mainly AR, AP; manage the Groups cashflow balances and cash needs and make recommendations and resource allocations
• Compliance, Policies and Procedures: Establish and maintain financial controls and procedures for all entities; streamline accounting and financial reporting processes; ensure compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements and record keeping meets the requirements of auditors and regulators for our entities in Singapore, China, India, Indonesia, Philippines, Thailand, Vietnam and Malaysia
• Leadership and Coaching: Support, coach, and develop our regional finance team to be a solid high-performing team; lead the hire process for new team members when needed
• Cross Functional & Regional Collaboration: Work closely with other business partners across the region from commercial, HR, operations, marketing, product and tech as the opportunity arises
• Investor Relations Support: Engage with existing investors and potential investors and assist in fundraising efforts as required including leading financial and tax due diligence processes

Job Requirements

• Bachelor's or Masters Degree in Business, Finance, Economics or equivalent
• At least 10 years of relevant working experience in Insurance, Insurtech or Fintech industry
• Working at a fast-growing regional start up and having Big 4 and insuranc experience is a huge plus
• Experience in managing and leading a global/ regional accounting team
• Sound knowledge in Finance Control processes, Accounting, Financial Analysis, Budgeting & Forecasting
• Effective and professional communication and organization skills.
• Self-motivated, resilient, capacity to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
