Summary
Our client is an established construction company currently seeking an accomplished professional to join the team as a Design Engineer to work within their Estimating and Alternative Delivery Departments. They are seeking someone with a background in Highway Design and Roadway modeling for large Heavy Civil highway projects.
Compensation (based on experience)
Salary Range: $75k to $95k a year

General Responsibilities include:

Additional Responsibilities:
Pursue and execute of any Alternative Delivery transportation projects, including:
- Reviewing and interpreting RFP requirements and review design for compliance
- Developing and analyzing the preliminary design of technical concepts
- Coordinating design deliverables from our design consultants and assist our
- Estimating Team in quantifying scope for various parts of the project
- Track RFP and addendum releases, and incorporate these requirements into our designs
3D Delivery/BIM/MBDC elements of transportation projects, including:
- Review design models for completeness and accuracy
- Develop models for quantity takeoff and constructability analysis
- Develop and manage design and construction model standards and work-flows for data transfer efficiency
- Perform basic/routine technical computer-aided drafting and designing (CADD) in accordance with CADD data standards
- Assisting in assembling and cross-checking construction plans to ensure accuracy and complete sets of bidding documents
- Provide CAD drafting/modeling and takeoff support
Minimum Qualifications

- A bachelor's degree (or higher) in Civil Engineering preferred or equivalent relevant experience considered
- A minimum of 3-5 years of roadway design experience, including performing design of various aspects of transportation infrastructure such as highways, arterial streets, interchanges, MOT, walls, and structures preferred
- Must be highly organized, detailed oriented, and possess strong time-management skills
- Proficient in Trimble Business Center
- Proficient in Heavy Civil design software preferred (OpenRoads, Civil 3D, etc.)
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Excellent written and oral communication skills in the English language
Ability to work well under pressure, meeting tight, multiple, and sometimes conflicting deadlines.
