ABOUT THE ROLE
An opportunity exists for a highly experienced electrical engineer to lead the technical delivery of complex data centre and critical environment projects across Sydney. This role suits a driven professional with a background in hyperscale or colocation data centre delivery, who brings expertise in electrical infrastructure and a working knowledge of mechanical systems.

You will play a central role in shaping design outcomes, ensuring technical compliance, and supporting project delivery through design, commissioning, and handover. Your ability to collaborate across internal teams, contractors, and consultants will be key to ensuring successful outcomes.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Review and contribute to concept designs, technical proposals, and detailed documentation.

  • Optimise electrical designs to balance resilience, cost, and operational efficiency.

  • Provide technical leadership on systems including LV switchgear, UPS, standby generation, and cooling systems (chilled water, CRAC/CRAH).

  • Contribute to bid and tender submissions by reviewing scope, capacity planning, and design strategy.

  • Develop and review electrical load assessments, fault studies, and system redundancy plans.

  • Review shop drawings, coordination models, and installation documents.

  • Ensure system design aligns with relevant Australian standards and best practices in mission-critical environments.

  • Collaborate on the integration of BMS, EMS, and fire detection/suppression systems.

  • Support ongoing technical development of design standards and templates.

Project & Site Engagement (Approx. 30%)

  • Conduct site inspections, system testing (including IST), and support commissioning.

  • Liaise with internal stakeholders, design consultants, contractors, and clients to clarify scope and resolve issues.

  • Develop risk assessments, feasibility studies, and due diligence reports.

  • Attend and lead design coordination meetings and interface with multidisciplinary teams.

  • Support project reviews to ensure alignment with delivery timelines, safety standards, and quality benchmarks.
