Construction Manager Data Centre Projects (Indonesia)
Location: Jakarta, Indonesia, with travel to Singapore

Overview

A global infrastructure organisation is seeking an experienced Construction Manager to support the delivery of high-performance data centre projects in Southeast Asia. This role will oversee mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) design, construction, and commissioning, ensuring safety, quality, and commercial success across projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the subject matter expert for MEP systems, security/monitoring, and fire detection/suppression design and delivery.

  • Partner with regional design and construction teams to deliver data centre capacity in line with strategic objectives.

  • Ensure scalable and repeatable processes are implemented across project delivery, including risk management and progress tracking.

  • Lead general contractors, OEMs, and consultants through all phases of construction.

  • Oversee the implementation of modular construction and off-site manufacturing solutions where appropriate.

  • Champion a world-class safety culture across all project stakeholders and vendors.

  • Monitor project scope, budget, and schedule from design through commissioning and handover.

  • Provide technical guidance during procurement, proposal evaluation, and vendor selection.

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with internal teams, including operations, finance, and sales.

  • Conduct monthly project reporting and maintain construction cost data for ongoing benchmarking.

  • Support customer site visits and engagement during pre-sales and delivery phases.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in construction delivery, preferably in mission-critical infrastructure (e.g., general contracting, engineering consultancy, or trade background).

  • Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, with preference for licensed professionals.

  • Strong understanding of construction documentation, project management principles, and local building code requirements.

  • Proven ability to manage multiple complex technical projects across geographically dispersed teams.

  • Demonstrated leadership in safety and quality on construction sites.

  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, including external partners and internal executive teams.

  • Proficient in MS Office and AutoCAD; advanced analytical and budgetary skills are essential.
