Due to an increase in projects, Fredons Infrastructure team are seeking High Voltage Protection Technicians.

We currently have an exciting opportunity for an experienced High Voltage Protection Technician to join ourteam in Silverwater. Projects are located in Sydney and NSW with some interstate travel required. This is a full-time position with a competitive remuneration package and great exposure to some of the largest infrastructure projects in Australia.

Key Responsibilities Includes

• Commissioning of High Voltage Substations including switchboards, transformers and substation apparatus
• Commissioning of battery supplies and UPS systems
• IR & VLF Testing of High Voltage Cables
• You will develop ITPS and commissioning work instructions
• Preparing and completing commissioning/testing documentation, protection test plans and creating detailed technical reports on completion of works.

To be successful, you will have the following skills and experience:

• Tertiary qualifications - Electrical Engineering Degree
• A minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in the field.
• Experience in the Commissioning of Substation apparatus up to 132kV.
• Familiarity with applicable Australian and international standards, such as IEC61850 and GOOSE communications.
• Experience with testing and commissioning of primary systems.
• Strong theoretical knowledge of power systems and the ability to interpret commissioning test results.
• Proven experience with the Omicron suite of equipment, including CMC356, CPC100, TD, FRANEO, and CIBANO
• Ability to meet project quality, schedule, and budget requirements
• Ability to promote a high standard of safety, professionalism and effective communication with both internal and external stakeholders.

Desirable

• High Voltage Switchyard Experience
• Background in design, protection and grading systems desired
• Current NSW Electrical Workers Licenced desirable
