A private Specialist Physician practice in Milnerton, Cape Town is seeking to recruit an experienced Medical Receptionist to manage front desk operations, patient coordination, and administrative support within a professional healthcare environment. The successful candidate will be organised, compassionate, and able to maintain a calm and efficient patient experience.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manage patient reception and front desk duties
- Coordinate patient flow within the waiting room environment
- Verify and update patient demographics and contact details
- Answer phone calls and respond to email enquiries professionally
- Handle patient queries politely and confidentially
- Coordinate appointments, follow ups, and specialist consultation schedules
- Prepare patient files and notes ahead of consultations
- Scan and upload documents into electronic medical records
- Process payments and issue receipts
- Relay messages between patients, the doctor, and healthcare providers
- Maintain filing systems and general administrative support
- Ensure consent forms and required documentation are completed accurately
- Maintain confidentiality of all patient information and comply with privacy regulations
- Support general office management and upkeep of the practice
Qualification and Requirements:
- Matric / Grade 12
- Minimum 2 years' experience as a receptionist within a medical practice
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Windows 11
- Strong typing and basic computer skills
- Fluent in English and Afrikaans
