Temp Medical Receptionist (General Surgeon) - Pretoria

A General Surgeon, based in Pretoria is seeking to employ a medical receptionist on a temporary basis for 4 months from mid-August. This is a maternity cover and not a permanent employment offer.

Requirements:

• Receive patients in a professional and kind manner
• Diary management
• Appointment management at external healthcare providers (i.e., radiology, laboratory, doctors etc.)
• Switchboard
• Creating patient files on VeriClaim
• Managing patient flow
• PMB & Oncology Registrations
• Coordination of theatre lists
• Stocktaking and consumable management
• Typing various practice notes
• Scanning and uploading of documentation
• Assisting with follow ups or rescheduling of appointments
• Ensure the smooth and effective functioning of the practice
• Ensure reception area is tidy and presentable
• General administration
• Maintain efficient patient service
• Maintain confidentiality of all doctor, staff and patient information

Qualification:

• Matric
• At least 2 years' experience in a medical practice
• Experience in a surgical practice is essential
• VeriClaim experience would be an advantage
• Microsoft office skills essential
• Knowledge of ICD10 codes and procedure codes
• Valid driver's license and own reliable transport

Working hours:

• Monday to Friday, 07h30 16h30

Appointment:

• 18 August 2025 (for 4 months)
• Handover & training to be done in July 2025 (2 days)
